しかし、マリコパ郡監督委員会は満足のいく回答を司法長官に提出しませんでした。
このため、司法長官は、かねての通告通り、マリコパ郡監督委員会がアリゾナ州上院議会の法的拘束力を伴う選挙書物品の提出要請に従わない限り、アリゾナ州政府からマリコパ郡への郡運営予算の送付を停止するようアリゾナ州財務局に命令することを、マリコパ郡政府に通告しました。
マリコパ郡監督委員会が、アリゾナ州上院議会の要請に従わない限り、マリコパ郡政府は予算不足による深刻な機能不全に陥ることになります。
マリコパ郡監督委員会は、アリゾナ州上院議会の要請に従うよう、マリコパ郡政府からの非常に強い同調圧力にさらされることになるしょう。
また、司法長官は、アリゾナ州上院議会から法的監査報告書が提出され、法令違反の事案がその中に認められた場合、捜査を開始することも示唆しています。
犯罪捜査に切り替わった場合、知らぬ存ぜぬを通しているドミニオン社にも捜査のメスが入ることでしょう。
